Twyford Scarecrow Trail 2025

Next dates

Sorry, there are no future dates available

This October half term, Twyford will once again come alive with a colourful cast of characters as the much-loved Twyford Scarecrow Trail returns for its third year. Organised by the PTAs of the Polehampton Infant and Junior Schools and The Colleton School, this year’s trail promises another fun, family-friendly adventure for all ages.

From Monday 27 October to Saturday 1 November, local residents, businesses and community groups are invited to showcase their creativity and imagination by displaying wonderful scarecrows throughout the village, creating the perfect excuse for families to get outside, explore Twyford, and enjoy some light-hearted half term fun.

This year’s theme is T for Twyford, so the possibilities are endless! You might see gures posing as Tom Daly, Taylor Swift or Tom Cruise, or a scarecrow playing tennis, tap dancing, or even tobogganing. There could be scarecrow creatures such as tortoises or tarantulas, or beloved characters from books, TV or movies that t the theme. Whether quirky, clever or funny, we can’t wait to see what the community dreams up this year!

If you are a Twyford resident and would like to create a scarecrow for the trail you can sign up via polehamptonpta.org/2025scarecrowtrail. Please register before Wednesday 8 October to ensure your location features on the trail map. Scarecrows should be on display in Twyford from 9am to 5pm every day of the trail. If you don’t live in the village but are keen to take part, we can pair you with a local resident or business to host your creation.

Trail-goers will also have opportunities to win prizes, so there is plenty of incentive to get spotting. Enjoying the trail will be easy: simply pick up a printed trail map any day during the week of the event from Grapevine Estate Agents (open 9am–5pm) or Ola Coffee Co (9am–3pm).

Maps cost £3 each, with all proceeds being shared equally between The Colleton and Polehampton Schools to fund vital educational initiatives that directly benefit their students. Whether you decide to take part as a creator, a spotter, or both, the Twyford Scarecrow Trail is a fantastic way to celebrate our wonderful community. So, gather your friends and family to embark on a magical journey through the heart of Twyford this October half term, all while helping to support our local schools.
