Whitley Carnival 2023!

Sunday 11th June from 12pm

Step right up and prepare to be amazed by the colours, sounds and energy of Reading’s brightest and best street party.

Launching at midday on Sunday 11 June 2023, Whitley Carnival’s Parades will weave through the streets of Whitley before meeting up at the John Madejski Academy for a Fun Day of stalls, food and performances. After the Parades, the Fun Day starts at 1pm at the John Madejski Academy. With stalls of local merchandise, activities for children, music and dance performances and much more, this is where the community comes together to celebrate Whitley and, most importantly, to have fun! Entry and entertainment is free, but please bring your spare change for the stalls!

Everyone is welcome to take part by walking in the Parades – from school children to local performers, Whitley residents to professional carnival walkers, everyone welcome!

In 2023 they will be celebrating the past, present and future of Whitley – if you’d like to get involved in ANY way, please get in touch here.

There are also range of community workshops where you can make your own costumes and props. Just click on the link here to sign up. It’s all completely FREE and suitable for all ages.
