Where to see the Solar Eclipse locally
Next dates
- 18:00 - 20:00
The excitement is building for the Solar Eclipse hitting Europe this Wednesday 12th August so we've put together some locations locally that you could go to watch it. With more than 90 per cent of the sun likely to be obscured in many areas, this partial eclipse is expected to be the most significant such event in the UK since the total eclipse in 1999.
The Eclipse will be visible from between 6:17pm - 8:06pm with the peak around 7:10pm. Here are some locations you may want to try:
Wokingham:
Dinton Pastures Country Park
California Country Park
Horseshoe Lake
Reading:
Prospect Park
North Hill
Larden Chase
Bracknell:
Cabbage Hill (limited parking spaces)
Lilly Hill Park
South Hill Park
The biggest thing to remember is to try and find a clear open space and look West (get those compasses on your mobile phone out!) And remember not to look directly at the sun - use Solar Eclipse glasses.
