Silchester Country Fayre

Next dates

Sorry, there are no future dates available

Welcome to the 2025 Silchester Country Fayre

This event has grown and grown over the years. It has developed from a small event in 1959 to a bustling and much larger community event, some 66 years later! For 2025, we feel that its time for the event name to reflect this special day in Silchester’s calendar so we are changing from Silchester Fete and Dog Show to Silchester Country Fayre.

Saturday 6th September. 11am - 4pm

Silchester Country Fayre encompasses a hugely popular Dog Show with our doggy competitors travelling from as far away as Southampton and London. A Classic Vehicle show with cars, tractors and motorbikes also delivers a great spectacle. The local Market joins in the fun, with over 50 great shopping opportunities.

The organisers would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who contributes to and supports this amazing fund-raising event.

Please see HERE for more information.

Silchester Country Fayre is staged to raise funds for the village’s beautiful 12th century church, St Mary the Virgin, at the edge of the Roman walls surrounding the earlier iron age settlement, and then Roman town of Calleva. If you have not been, it is well worth a visit, set in the midst of our beautiful north Hampshire countryside.

St Mary the Virgin Church is a wonderful example of architecture from the Middle Ages boasting some significant historic features both inside and out. But equally important, it has been the home to a vibrant church community and still is today. Worship occurs there every Sunday and the building is open every day for private prayer, meditation or just a look around.

Your support in attending Silchester Country Fayre helps maintain this magnificent Grade 1 Listed building. Many other local charities will also be present and will benefit from your spending on the day.

Everyone connected with the Fayre and St Mary’s the Virgin Church hope you enjoy the activities and entertainment arranged for you. Have a great time, keep safe and so make a note in your diary to come visit us again next year with your friends and family.
