Hunt high and low through the bustling streets and around luscious parks, uncovering fascinating historical stories and gorgeous hidden gems along the way! This case will leave you filling oww-ful…

The town is abuzz following the sad loss of local dentist, Pearl E Whyte. Can you solve the clues and crack the case before the crook extracts another dentist?

Warning: Our trails are highly addictive (even for parents)!

  • Text message service with clues if you get stuck.
  • Solve the mystery and be entered into a £100 monthly draw.
  • Learn more about where you live or explore somewhere new.

Useful information

Please Note:

  • The Trail is not marked as friendly for wheelchair users due to steps and staircases along the route, however those with light pushchairs should find this manageable.
  • Bring your four-legged friends along! Please note that this is a busy town centre so dogs will need to be kept on leads through most of the Trail.
  • The closest long stay pay and display car park to the Trail start point is at Garrard Street just a five to ten minute walk away. Or why not try one of Reading’s fantastic Park and Ride services?
  • There are some fantastic events in Reading’s calendar, all of which are great times to visit this beautiful town. However, you may find that some of the Clues on this Trail may become obstructed or difficult to access on these occasions (especially events in Forbury Park). If you would like further information about event dates, please contact Reading Visitor Information.
  • There are toilets available in both Broad Street Mall and The Oracle shopping centre. There are many cafes, restaurants, pubs and other eating establishments along the way, including numerous on either side of the canal at The Oracle. If the weather is nice, a picnic in Forbury Gardens is a popular choice.
  • Why not make a day of it by visiting the Abbey Quarter or Reading Museum for a fascinating look at the town’s history. Or why not take a stroll along the riverside with an ice cream in hand?
