Kings Meadow and The Coal Woodland
Kings Meadow is a large park and a popular picnic site. There are mature trees and willow beds and a lovely walk along the towpath. Please note, the park is susceptible to flooding in the winter months. The Coal woodland at the eastern side is an area raised out of the flood plain. Enjoy a leisurely stroll down the towpath between the woodland and the river bank. There is a Tesco superstore close by, which is separated from the river by the woodland.
Take a wander to the northwest side of the park to see an old Victorian river-fed bathing station. Opposite this is a small island and river lock.
Playing fields are utilised by local sports teams throughout the football season and into summer. Parking is available on Napier Road.
