Broad Street Beats Returns to Celebrate Valentine's
Next dates
- 11:00 - 15:00
Broad Street Mall is inviting the local community to celebrate love, music and togetherness as Broad Street Beats returns with a special Valentine’s edition on Saturday 7th February, from 11am – 3pm, in the lead up to Valentine’s Day.
In partnership with The Rhoom Studios, this FREE, family-friendly event will bring feel-good vibes to the heart of Reading with live music, special performances and Valentine’s-themed activities, creating the perfect atmosphere in the lead up to the big day.
This Valentine’s edition of Broad Street Beats will focus on connection, community and wellbeing, offering a heartwarming day of entertainment and support for all ages.
Highlights on the day will include:
- FREE live music from talented local performers, curated in partnership with The Rhoom Studios.
- A live Mariachi band, bringing romance and energy with classic love songs.
- Meet Topsy, Broad Street Mall’s much-loved mascot, spreading Valentine’s cheer, posing for photos and handing out FREE goodies.
- Competition time – get into the Valentine’s spirit by coming dressed in red and pink on the day for your chance to WIN prizes.
- FREE muffin samples from Muffin Break - delicious bites throughout the day.
- Reading Alternative Market (RAM) will be joining the event to talk all about the markets they will be hosting throughout the year, including the one they will be hosting the following week on Saturday 14th February at Broad Street Mall. Created for those who love something a little different, RAM champions local makers and independent creatives.
The event will also welcome The Jessica Project, a survivor-led organisation supporting recovery from sexual violence and domestic abuse. The team will be on hand to raise awareness, share information about their vital services, and offer a range of empowering merchandise.
The local charity Together UK will also be joining the event to share information about their vital work supporting people experiencing mental distress and helping them lead independent, fulfilling lives.
Broad Street Mall is also proud to continue supporting the Every Little Thing Festival, created in memory of Diva. The festival shines a light on mental health, wellness and suicide prevention, offering hope and support to those who need it most. The team will be attending Broad Street Beats to share their powerful message with the community.
Broad Street Beats continues to help embed Broad Street Mall as a true community hub, bringing people together through the power of music while raising awareness of important topics that are often not spoken about openly.
Steven Connolly, Centre Manager at Broad Street Mall, said:
“Broad Street Beats has become a wonderful way for us to bring the community together, and this Valentine’s edition is all about celebrating love, music and togetherness while getting into the spirit ahead of the big day. We’re excited to welcome everyone for a fun, feel-good day right in the heart of Reading.”
