BROAD STREET BEATS IS BACK TO MARK MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS WEEK 2026

Music, community, and wellbeing take centre stage as Broad Street Beats returns to Broad Street Mall on Saturday 17th May to mark Mental Health Awareness Week.

In partnership with The Rhoom Studios, Broad Street Mall is inviting the local community to Central Square between 11am-3pm, for a FREE feel-good day of live music from incredible local talent.

With a fantastic lineup featuring Rose Elwood, Purple Roots, Robert Steven Hunt, and Simon Williams, amongst others, this event aims to bring people together, foster meaningful connections, and promote wellbeing through the uplifting power of live music.

Visitors can also enjoy:

  • A FREE mindfulness-themed craft workshop hosted by Jelly, suitable for all ages.
  • Appearances by Topsy, the centre’s beloved mascot, who will be spreading kindness and giving out tasty treats throughout the day.
  • A chance to connect with local mental health charities and community groups, offering free support, resources, and ways to get involved.

And to top it all, Broad Street Mall continues its proud support of the Every Little Thing Festival, held each September in memory of Diva Gibson, who tragically lost her life to suicide on 10th May 2020. Founded by her mother, Sinead Gibson, the festival champions awareness, support, and action around mental health and suicide prevention. Sinead will be joining Broad Street Beats to help raise awareness and support the important conversation around mental health.

Broad Street Mall is excited to announce that this year the event will become a year-round series of music showcases, offering more opportunities to enjoy live performances and join the community spirit over the coming months and into 2026.

Steven Connolly, Centre Manager at Broad Street Mall, said:

“Following the fantastic response to last year’s Broad Street Beats, we’re delighted to be bringing it back - this time to mark Mental Health Awareness Week 2025. Mental health is a topic that’s very important to us here at Broad Street Mall, and we’re proud to shine a light on it through an event that champions connection within the community and the power this has in supporting positive mental health.
